MISSION
8th Street Mission has been God's answer to the prayers of the homeless and destitute men in Crittenden County for over 20 years. At the heart of what we do is:
"And Christ said unto them, whatever you did for the least of these my brothers, you have done unto me."

HISTORY
Chartered in 1984 by a group of philanthropic citizens, and opened in 1987 as Crittenden County’s first homeless shelter, the Mission began in one building, at 103 S. 8th Street- hence the name. The Mission has consistently expanded its services demonstrating Christian generosity, love, and the saving grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
It is now housed in 10 separate buildings, with offices at 717 E. Broadway. In 2003, we became a member of the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions and became the first “Rescue” Mission in Eastern Arkansas. As of February 2011, Pastor Larry Brown became the sixth Executive Director of the Eighth Street Mission for Jesus Christ.
